The biggest carnival in Switzerland is a must. Even if the party starts at 4am, this carnival is very serious..

It's the biggest carnival in Switzerland. The highlight of Basel's carnival is the Morgenstreich, when all the inhabitants gather for the carnival launch at 4am! All the lights in the city are switched off, the "Vorträbler" (extras) lead the way and carry lanterns attached to sticks. 200 lanterns with the themes chosen by the "cliques" are displayed throughout the city. A must-see.

Evénement vraiment original, dommage de ne pas parler le suisse allemand, le côté satirique échappe.
Depuis plusieurs années je souhaite aller au Morgenstreich, le premier jour à 4 heures du matin. Quelqu'un saurait-il s'il y a à cette heure là des transports en commun?
