LOWER CARAVANSARY

The lower caravanserail has 242 pieces and its total area is 8,000 m ². Its central courtyard, more than 4,500 m ², is surrounded by arches and has a large basin. The caravanserail has four entries, all four corners of the rectangular shape building. Built in the seventeenth century, this caravanserail is the largest of the Caucasus. Renovation work has been dragging on for years, and unfortunately it is not possible to enter inside to see the layout of the cells and breathe the atmosphere of old stones.
