The most southerly of Russian Orthodox churches! It was built in 1902 by architects Fyodor Verzhbitsky and Fyodor Smirnov. Until 1910, it belonged to the 9th St. Alexis Rifle Regiment, and was later renamed in honor of St. Alexander Nevsky. Made entirely of baked brick, it features icons and paintings of saints. You'll recognize it by its golden bulbous dome. An active parish, it is also open to tourists.
