Bibi Khanum means "the eldest wife". This slender, rather solitary mausoleum of Tamerlane's wife is also a place of pilgrimage for women. They ask to find love, peace and tranquility in their homes. Built in the late 14th century, the octagonal crypt houses three coffins. The interior has once again been perfectly restored. The gilding and brilliant interlacing, painted on paper, give the whole its authenticity. The building is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
