Independence Square is a space reserved for annual celebrations. The construction of the Senate Palace has given it a new aesthetic, overlooked by an arch dominated by humos, the legendary birds of oriental tales. A few meters away, stands the Monument to the Fallen of the Second World War, where the flame of remembrance burns beneath a statue of a woman symbolizing the mothers who lost their children. The names of the fallen are written on golden plaques.
