The botanical garden is a quiet, refreshing place where picnics are permitted. Lined with numerous fountains and ponds, and mostly sheltered from the sun by the vast shade of the trees, you can relax here on hot summer days. Dating from the 1920s, this is the oldest and largest botanical garden in Central Asia. It boasts more than 4,500 plant species covering different geographical zones: Central Asia, Crimea, Caucasus, Europe and the Far East. A collection covering more than 40 hectares in the heart of the city.
