OPERA ALISHER NAVOI

This building, constructed during the Second World War by prisoners of war, remains the benchmark for cultural events in Tashkent. It was inaugurated in 1947 for the five hundredth anniversary of the birth of Alischer Navoï. The program is varied, alternating between ballets and operas. Tchaikovsky with The Nutcracker or Eugene Onegin, Donizetti and L'Elixir d'amour. Tickets are more than reasonably priced.
