The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Tashkent was established in 1993. It offers consular services such as visa services, passport services, notary and legalization services, civil status applications and emergency documents. Uzbek citizens do not need a visa to enter Kazakhstan. In addition to its embassy in Tashkent, Kazakhstan has a consulate general in Samarkand. Uzbekistan also has representations in Kazakhstan, including an embassy in Astana and consulates in Aktau and Almaty.
