This establishment, often called locally Institut Pasteur because it is located in its former premises, is primarily dedicated to the study of bacterial, viral and parasitic diseases that are prevalent in Guinea. Nowadays, it is mainly visited for its collection of reptiles. One room displays in jars the 105 species of snakes identified and collected in Guinea; another displays in cages a number of live individuals. This is an opportunity to identify reptiles that are not uncommon in Guinea.
