FORTRESS (FORTY TWIERDZY PREMYŚL)

The fortress of Przemyśl was at the beginning of the th century among the largest fortresses in Europe. Compared to that in Verdun, it has about thirty fortified sites which, scattered in wooded hills, surround the city with a 45 km belt. During the First World War here 100 000 soldiers died. Visiting the sites can be done by bike or by foot. Do not miss the sites of Siedliska and Jaksmanice, Dunkowiczki and Orzechowce, Łętownia.
