HISTORY MUSEUM (MUZEUM HISTORYCZNE)

Housed in the city's Renaissance castle, this museum has departments that relate the history and arts of the region, but above all it houses a superb collection of icons, unique in Poland. Nearly 300 works from the 15th to the 18th century allow us to understand the artistic and liturgical importance of the icon in Orthodoxy. The top floor of the museum is devoted to the work of the world-famous Sanok-born painter Zdisław Beksiński.
