It was originally a small place of worship, a simple brick parish church built in the 14th century. The cathedral was remodeled and extended several times by successive additions in a faithful Gothic style. After a major renovation in the 19th century, it took on its present form, and its beautiful Gothic and Neo-Gothic decor was born. Apart from these elements, it is known for its Renaissance funerary monuments to the great Tarnowski and Ostrogski families.
