The independent bookstore Massolit is a city institution. Stacked from floor to ceiling, its 20,000 English-language titles cover Poland, Eastern Europe and the Jewish world. The place is exceptionally charming and navigating from one twisted room to the next, between the shelves of books and old furniture, creates a powerful urge to laze around for hours, curl up on a couch or nibble on a pie with a cup of tea. This is exactly what the regulars do here, often coming to work or to meet with friends.
