This great basilica began life as a Romanesque edifice, erected in the 12th century, and was subsequently remodeled in Gothic style at the turn of the 14th century. Some modifications were also made in the 17th century. This is the most beautiful place to visit in the city. The cathedral houses large 17th-century organs with moving figures. Concerts are held during the Organ and Chamber Music Festival, from mid-June to the end of August.
