The Church of St. Stanislaus was founded in 1257 by Duke Boleslas, Prince of Greater Poland and Kalisz, and his wife Jolanta. Like the city's cathedral, it is also one of the oldest churches in Kalisz. Despite this, its decoration is much more recent, in a style that dates back to the Renaissance. It houses a reliquary of Saint Jolanta and a pulpit in the shape of a ship. The monastery dates back to the 17th century and was originally built of wood.
