LAGO SUCHITLÁN

A good half hour is enough to arrive at the artificial lake of Suchitlán (135 km ²), formed in 1973 during the construction of the Cerrón Grande hydroelectric dam on the course of the Río river. From November to March, the birds gather there and the show is spectacular and noisy. You can rent boats and walk on the lake, or take a ferry on the other side (where buses can connect with northern cities, an original idea for adventurers). There are buses from the village to the lake.
