ACAHUALINCA HUELLAS
Site where was discovered in 1874 by Dr. Earl Flint, the oldest human footprints (fossilized in volcanic mud) known to date in Central America: they will return to about 4000 B.C. Hardly anything is known about these primitive inhabitants. The first scientific work was conducted in 1941-1942 by the Carnegie Institute in Washington. More recently, studies have shown that these prehistoric traces correspond to those left by 10 individuals with an average size of 1,45 m. On this same site, the fingerprints of white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus), lizards, bison and turkeys (Penelope purpurascens) can also be discerned. Opened on the site, an interesting museum displays ceramics and informs us about indigenous history. Important: the neighborhood does not breathe córdoba and goods; think of taking a taxi (between $ 50 and $ 25 C depending on your starting point). But buses 102, 12 and 6 can also take you there.
