Ketil and Evelyn Anguyak Reitan have been breeding and driving sled dogs since the 1970s. Take advantage of their unique skills and experience to discover the wild side of Norway. Their dogs are all friendly Alaskan huskies. Ketil and Evelyn will even teach you how to lead 5 or 6 dogs. Dog sledding is also a way to perceive the territory in a different way, to feel an unusual speed of movement and of course to apprehend the human-animal interaction so surprising sometimes.

Røros Husky is a family business owned and operated by Torgeir Oren and Mary Amundsen. They have been breeding and driving the dogs since 1975. They have about 30 very well trained and docile Alaskan Huskies. For years, Torgeir was one of the best mushers in Europe for long-distance races. Day trips on the Gauldal plateau (Gauldalsvidda) and in lightly wooded areas. Multi-day trips are also on the program! It is not necessary to have already done dog sledding.

RØROS HESTESPORTSENTER

Equestrian center and pony club

Located 6 km north-west of the city centre, this riding centre offers a variety of options, from one- to three-hour rides, to full-day rides to make the most of an experience in the wilderness, alone with the horses. For these long rides, you must be over 8 years old and have already done some horse riding. Lunch is included in the price. The horses are Icelandic (famous for their fourth natural gait, the tølt), Nordland, Døle or Anglo-Arabian. Marked horse trails in summer.
