FjordSafari was established in Flåm in 2003 and is a family business run by Rune and May Lene. We simply love our fjord landscape and would like you to experience culture and nature as we do as locals. Together with dedicated guides and staff, we share with you our fascination for this unique heritage area.

Fjord Safari Winter

Discover the magic of the Norwegian fjords in winter with us! During this 2.5 hour safari you will discover the UNESCO listed Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and frozen waterfalls. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and listen to the stories your personal guide will tell you. Our return point is Styvi, and on the way back we stop in the charming village of Undredal. In the small grocery store we find our local host who will serve you something warm to drink and give you a little insight into life in this small village known for its goat cheese. It is possible to taste and buy local goat cheese while we are in Undredal.
Please dress warmly as the temperatures on the fjord will be very low during the winter months.
Meeting time: 30 minutes before departure.

Fjord safari Spring

FjordSafari 1.5 hours takes you through Aurlandsfjord and to the entrance of the spectacular Nærøyfjord! The turning point of this tour is next to Sagfossen, a breathtaking waterfall in the heart of the World Heritage Site. From here you will have a magnificent view of the Nærøyfjord.
We use open RIB boats for up to 12 people, which guarantees a personal experience with our guides and the opportunity to get close to small villages and waterfalls along the way. This is a gentle, family-friendly adventure. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery, stories, tales and history shared by your personal guide. We bring you closer to nature and spot wildlife along the way.
Fjord Safari & degustation
Join us on this gentle inflatable boat adventure and discover the entire UNESCO-listed Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord to the Viking village of Gudvangen. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery, stories and history told by your personal guide. On the way back to Flåm, we disembark at Undredal, a charming fjord village wedged between high mountains. This tiny village is home to the smallest stave church in Scandinavia and an award-winning goat cheese. Our local expert will introduce us to these traditions and give us an insight into the production process. We will then have the opportunity to taste the different types of local cheeses, accompanied by flat bread and jam.
If you find your favorite goat cheese in Undredal, it is possible to buy cheeses in the café before departure.

We use open inflatable boats for up to 12 people, which guarantees a personal experience with our local guides and the opportunity to get close to small villages and waterfalls along the way. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery, stories and history shared by your personal guide. We bring you closer to nature and spot seals, porpoises and eagles along the way.
Our Fjordsafari tours start and end in Flåm, where we will provide you with all the necessary equipment for a safe and comfortable experience on the fjords. This includes a flotation suit, life jacket, hat, gloves and goggles. We recommend that you dress according to the weather/temperature and avoid wearing open-toed shoes.
FjordSafari and hike to a goat farm

Join us for an active fjord to mountain adventure!
We start the day with a one and a half hour FjordSafari on the UNESCO-listed Aurlandsfjord and to the large Sagfossen waterfall in the Nærøyfjord. On the way back, we disembark at the Skjerdal pier, where we start the hike to Leim's mountain goat farm. The hike takes about 1.5 hours uphill, and we will climb the valley up to 400 meters. During the hike you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery, fjord views and waterfalls.
Upon arrival, the hostess will take you on a tour of the farm and show you some of the secrets of making traditional goat cheese. In this beautiful setting, you can relax on the farm's terrace and enjoy a goat cheese tasting and a delicious lunch made from local products. We drive back down to Skjerdal (about 30 minutes) and return to Flåm by minibus.
Please inform us in advance if you have allergies or are pregnant. The cheese served at the farm is not pasteurized.
No hiking experience is necessary, but a reasonable level of fitness is required for the hill walk. This tour is not recommended if you have back or knee problems. It is suitable for people who want an active experience.
This private guided tour starts in Flåm. The famous Flåm Railway takes you 20 km through the Flåm Valley, from sea level to 867 m above sea level. Here your bikes are ready for you to enjoy the views and the many waterfalls as you follow the river through the valley. Enjoy a personal guided experience full of history, anecdotes and local knowledge. Stop by the Rallarrosa Goat Farm (open mid-June to mid-September), where you can sample delicious local products donated by the milkmen and meet the goats.

Flåm zip line & velo
This private guided tour starts in Flåm. The famous Flåm Railway takes you 20 km through the Flåm valley, from sea level at 867 m above sea level to Vatnahalsen. We will start the descent by taking the longest zip line in Northern Europe. Enjoy a "flight" of 1381 meters to the Rallarrosa spring farm. Here your bikes are ready for you to enjoy the view and the many waterfalls as you follow the river into the valley. Enjoy a personal guided experience full of history, anecdotes and local knowledge.

Hike to the Brekkefossen waterfall
Explore the area and enjoy the beautiful views from Flåm!
On the hike to Brekkefossen waterfall, you will have a breathtaking view of the fjord and the valley. Start the hike from downtown Flåm on an asphalt road up the valley along the Flåm River. After a gentle walk of 1.5 km, we continue up the mountainside towards the Brekke waterfall. The steep, rocky trail quickly gains altitude and soon the small village of Flåm is visible through the trees. After about 30 minutes of uphill hiking, the trail opens onto a grassy ledge, offering beautiful views of the area. Join us on this hike to get a unique glimpse of local culture, history and life on the fjord!
WHAT TO EXPECT:

This hike is a total of 5 km long (return to the center of Flåm). The total elevation gain is about 155 m.
No hiking experience is necessary, but an average level of fitness is required for the hike to the waterfall.
