The Thon Hotel chain, which owns hotels throughout Scandinavia and the Netherlands, is at the helm of this large glass building ideally located on Halden harbor. The 88 rooms, like the hotel as a whole, are uniquely comfortable. From the standard room to the royal suite, there's something for everyone. What could be better than waking up facing the sea, or better still, the Fredriksten fortress? An establishment which, even if it's not the most picturesque, is a safe bet and highly recommended.

A hotel with 64 rooms, situated in a large and beautiful garden, with a restaurant, a gym and a sauna! The breakfast is great, with homemade scrambled eggs, fresh bread, lots of fruit and vegetables and lots of organic produce. A gym is welcome to keep you fit, and the sauna is a reward afterwards! In the afternoon, the hotel even serves free pastries to its guests between 3pm and 6pm, accompanied by tea and coffee. The included dinner is very good and convenient if you arrive in the evening tired!

A charming hotel with a very Scandinavian style, located two minutes from the city centre. In addition to the sober and well appointed rooms, you can enjoy the charming wooden bar. The furniture is a bit old-fashioned and basic, but all in all, perfect for a restful night. The rooms have a desk, which can be useful to work a little or to do watercolours! Some evenings, concerts are organized there. Bus and train nearby if you are backpacking. We like the room on the first floor to chat with friends!
