This former resting house dating back to 1894 is a historic monument that is part of the capital's landscape. This huge log building, with carved verandas, is built in the pure Norwegian dragon style and painted in red blood of beef. The superimposed roofs are decorated with sharp gables that end at the dragon's head. Think of asking to stay in the new wing, as well as a view of the fjord, if left. The restaurant, De Fem Stuer (Les Cinq Salons), is worth a visit for its interior decoration, even if you don't stay at the hotel. It is also one of the best in the capital. For those who can only admire the décor, there is still the Bakeriet, the small tea room behind the reception.

Les parties communes sont très joliment décorée et le restaurant (Cinq Salons) propose une carte très courte (seulement 4 plats principaux), mais il s'agit de cuisine de "haut vol" ... optez pour le steak rossini avec son foie gras doré à la poêle juste comme il faut et ses trois fines tranches de truffe ! Un régal !
En revanche, le personnel de l'hôtel manque de rigueur.
Incompétence lors de la prise de commande au restaurant (le serveur se trompe de plat et fait même des remarques insolentes).
Lors de mon installation dans la chambre, je constate que s'y trouve toujours les draps et les essuies sales des touristes précédents (la poubelle est encore pleine de fruits pourris).
Lorsque je demande aux employés de la réception de me réserver une table au restaurant de l'hôtel, ils me répondent "We could try to do it, but ..." (on pourrait essayer de faire cela, mais...) ! Ils ne l'ont pas fait !
Bref, très belle chambre et excellente cuisine, mais personnel bof bof !
Parking payant sous l'hôtel : 150 NOK la nuit.
