Some 6 km north-west of Ouadane, Tin-Labbé is home to the remains of a troglodyte village. Numerous rocks in the vicinity are covered with words in Arabic and Tifinagh, the Tuareg script, attesting to the ancient presence of peoples of diverse origins in the region. In the absence of official management of the site, and given the harshness of the elements in this corner of the desert, the rock paintings are unfortunately tending to deteriorate, but are still worth a visit if you're in the area.
