Just before reaching Mauritania's economic capital, Baie de l'Étoile is astonishing for the shape of the rocks sculpted by erosion that surround it. Almost enclosed, it is an ideal shelter for visiting sailboats and kitesurfers. This bay has revealed numerous archaeological sites, unfortunately much degraded since the expansion of Nouadhibou. The place is ideal for day trips. For oyster lovers, Adama (+222 465 307 23) runs an oyster farm opposite the Auberge des Dauphins, where you can sample some excellent oysters.
