Count 110 km before arriving at Néma. At Timbedgha, take the track to the south, sandy, quite easy to spot thanks to half-buried tires covered with white paint. After 65 km, you reach Koumbi Saleh: the archaeological site is located one kilometer from the village. The excavations carried out here attest to the past grandeur of the former capital of the Ghanaian empire. You can see the necropolis, the mosque with its carved stone columns and some beautiful houses with niches, pillars and slabs of schist.
