WAREHOUSE MISSION

Founded near Hienghène in 1897, the mission of Ouaré is located on the beach. The church, set on the lawn, dates from 1930. Columnar pines dominate the place and the bay. The Marist Fathers, missionaries of the Catholic Church, converted many Melanesians there. Grande Terre is rather Catholic. Mass is held there every Sunday at 9 am. A must-see visit, and not only for believers in search of a spiritual place! We recommend the visit to all, including those who appreciate the beautiful architecture of the building.
