Travel Guide Kengtung

Kengtung is one of the only major cities in eastern Burma. A city where all the goods related to trade to China or Thailand transit. In a region that is still quite difficult to visit, Kengtung, located in the east of Shan State, is however easily accessible by air from Heho. Located in the Golden Triangle, this remote mountainous region is one of the most wonderful places in Myanmar. The beauty and calm of Kengtung, the pure mountain air and the various ethnic groups such as Wa, Shan, Akha, Ann and Lahu are the main assets for the few travellers who venture into this region. Kengtung is home to excellent examples of colonial architecture and superb ancient temples, but also to many lakes, such as Lake Naung Tong, on whose shores its inhabitants come to watch the sunset
