North of Kabwe and about 200 km from Lusaka, Kapiri Mposhi is a small town of 15,000 inhabitants. It is an obligatory crossing point on the Great North Road to go to the Copperbelt or to the North-Eastern provinces. It is also the place to take the famous TAZARA train that crosses the whole of northern Zambia and Tanzania to Dar es Salaam. A real road junction, the main interest of this very lively little town is to allow us to refuel in petrol and cold drinks on the different roads of the country. We enjoy the authentic atmosphere of a small town that does not see many European tourists.
