Three communities live in this village, each in a different "neighbourhood". Nanon Tai, in the south, is inhabited by the Tahoy animists. They still practice buffalo sacrifice for the December full moon. The Souay, Buddhists, occupy Nanon Kang, in the middle of the village. And finally, the Katu, also animists, reside in Nanon Neua (in the north) and quite often proceed to buffalo sacrifices.
