The construction of this great white stupa would have taken nearly 200 years, between the 11th and early 18th centuries. According to the legend, Buddha arrived, after several days of walking, in the city of Pang Sing. Sitting near a tree, he addressed the crowd on the theme of abundance. All took part in a meal where meat dishes were served. A few hours later, all the guests died, except Buddha, who resumed his walk. After walking about sixty kilometers, he stopped and the stupa was built at this very spot.
