Travel Guide Ouadi Doan

Along 110 kilometres, adjacent to the Hadramawt parka, Doan Wadi is famous for its beautiful houses/palaces and for its honey production, considered the best in the world. The width varies between 2 and 3 kilometres. Many sources feed it. Geological research showed that this part of Hadramawt was occupied by the sea a few million years ago. A Yéméno-Russian archaeological mission discovered, in a cave near the village of Al-Ghurzza, tools dating back to the stone age. These are now at the Seyoun Museum. One of the roads of incense went through this Wadi: the one that connected the Hadramawt Wadi to the main caravanière road and left the coast to reach Chaboua and Timna. The name of Doan was found on an engraved tomb dating from the th century BC.
