37 km west of Marib, excavations were carried out by a German mission in 1993-1994. This place, with its temple of the God Almaga, its engravings of victory (whose sculptures would be the oldest in ancient Yemen) dating from the first millennium BC, is one of the best examples of the sabéen architectural art.
