Situated in the middle of nowhere or almost nowhere, halfway between Inchope (300 km away) and Quelimane (200 km away), the town is of no interest in itself. It is simply a must for those who travel by road and want to continue their journey north of the park and Mount Gorongosa. The Zambezi Bridge, 2.5 km long and crossing the Zambezi River between the towns of Caia and Chimuara in Mozambique, was inaugurated in August 2009. This was no small feat: as proof, he is only the fifth to span the Zambezi from its sources (on the borders of Angola and Congo-Kinshasa) to its mouth in the Marromeu Delta.
