Museum documenting the history of Eisenstadt's Jewish community, from its settlement in 1675 to its destruction in 1938.
This museum traces the history of Eisenstadt's Jewish community, from its settlement in 1675 to its destruction by the Nazis in 1938. Occupying a historic monument on the town's old Jewish street, it was the first museum in Austria dedicated to the Jews and their martyrdom after the extermination of 1945. Inaugurated in 1972, it bears witness to 250 years of history. An interesting complement to the museography and cultural activities organized around Vienna's Jewish quarter.
