Impressive building on the right bank of the Mur, hosting exhibitions of modern art from 1960 to the present day.
Located on the right bank of the Mur, this impressive building is well worth a visit, designed by architects Peter Cook and Colin Fournier. Its facade is in perfect harmony with the all-iron building dating from the mid-19thcentury , designed by Josef Benedikt Withalm. The modern, alien-shaped building dates from 2003. The Kunsthaus houses exhibitions of modern art from 1960 to the present day. From the top, enjoy a panoramic view of the city.

A Graz, la promotion de l'art passe incontestablement par l'architecture contemporaine. Avec ses formes organiques qui perpétuent la "blob architecture" la Kunsthaus ou "friendly Alien" des architectes Peter Cook et Colin Fournier est devenue tant une vitrine artistique qu'une oeuvre architecturale. La texture du bâtiment offre une interface numérique qui permet l'échange permanent avec son environnement. Les lumières du revêtement de façade deviennent des pixels d'un écran de projection géant.
