This tower is home to the largest bell in Styria and one of the oldest in Eastern Europe.
Renovated between 2008 and 2011, this tower is an elegant landmark emerging from the rooftops of the old town. Built in 1588, it survived the destruction of the Schlossberg. It is home to a 5-ton bell, one of the oldest in Eastern Europe, cast in 1587 from 1,001 Turkish cannonballs. It rings out over the city at 7am, 12pm and 7pm. Two other bells are installed here, one of which was used in case of fire.
