Castle housing a museum with an impressive collection of weapons, locks, coins and medals
The mighty fortress of the Counts of Montfort dominates the medieval town. Built in 1190, it was the counts' main residence for two centuries. From the 15thcentury onwards, during the reign of the Habsburgs, the castle was transformed and then passed to the bailiff Hans von Königsegg. The residence of the bailiffs until 1773, it now houses the municipal museum dedicated to its history, with an impressive collection of weapons, locks, coins and medals.
