The Kaisergebirge ("Emperor Mountains") consists of two mountain ranges, the Zahmer Kaiser and the Wilder Kaiser, separated by the Kaisertal valley. With its many marked trails and mountain huts, it's a paradise for nature lovers. Alpine meadows and forests alternate in a patchwork of green, dominated by the rocky peaks of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range. The first three stages of the "Eagle Route" pass through the reserve.
