CASTLE OF FRIEDBERG (SCHLOSS FRIEDBERG)

The castle was built around the year 1000 by the Counts of Andechs. The Fieger lords, who later took possession of it, gave the castle its late Gothic character. In the middle of the 19th century, the Counts Trapp bought the estate as a hunting lodge. Particularly noteworthy are the secular Gothic paintings and old kitchen utensils. The castle has been carefully restored and now houses a luxury hotel.
