SALZBURG ZOO HELLBRUNN
A pleasant, human-scale wildlife park with some 1,200 animals and 140 species.
Its origins date back to 1961. It was initially dedicated to Alpine fauna. This was followed by the arrival of felines in 1980, bears in 1990 and many other species since. Situated at the foot of Hellbrunn mountain, just a stone's throw from the castle of the same name, the zoo now presents a wide range of animal species in geo-zones (Africa, Asia, etc.). Salzburg Zoo is currently undergoing a series of major refurbishments and animal welfare projects. It's a pleasure to visit with the whole family.
