WALLSEERKAPELLE (WALLSEERKAPELLE)

Founded by an order of mendicants, the church in Enns, dedicated to St. Mary and featuring a traditional bulbous steeple, is one of the country's oldest parish churches, built around 1276 and enlarged in the ^14th and ^15th centuries. The building houses the harmonious Wallseer chapel, one of the jewels of Austrian Gothic, where you can admire the Secco painting (1625) and a stone Madonna and Child (1300). A cloister connecting the monastery was added in the ^15th century.
