If you are lucky enough to be in Sankt Pölten during one of the two weekly markets, you will enjoy strolling around and even filling your basket with good local produce for a picnic. The Domplatz market takes place on Thursday and Saturday mornings. You can also enjoy the very local atmosphere of the small daily market on Herrenplatz. Finally, the traditional Christmas market on the town hall square with its magical forest of illuminated trees, crafts, delicacies and entertainment is well worth a visit.
