AKRANES FOLK MUSEUM

This museum complex, located 1 km east of the city centre (away from Garðagrund), has become a real cultural and tourist centre. There is also a tourist office here to get some information. To see the Steinaríkí Íslands (mineral museum), a collection of Icelandic minerals and explanations of natural phenomena with an exhibition on the work of the tunnel under Hvalfjörður. But also exhibitions on local and national folklore (fishing, costumes) or on sports in Iceland. And a very pleasant café..
