The campsite on the island of Hrísey in Akureyri is located just below the sports center/pool. It's close to the sea, making it easy to swim in the sea, as well as visit the geothermal pool and gym facilities at the sports center. The playgrounds at Hrísey elementary school and in the town center are also nearby for younger children to enjoy. Staff at the sports center/pool manage the campsite and take care of reception duties. Showers and toilets (with hot and cold water) are located in the basement of the sports center, with direct access from the campsite. The price per person per night is ISK 1,500, and free for children under 17 staying with their families. Electricity costs ISK 1,000 for 24 hours.
