This small community occupies the northwestern tip of the peninsula, a strategic position that explains the presence of two phares exposed to the winds. They are located in Garðskagi. The oldest dates back to 1897 and remained in office until 1944, when it was replaced by the modern, more modern lighthouse. Here you can visit a small folklore museum that exhibits a wide variety of pieces, including many motors. Garðskagi is appreciated by ornithologists who watch migrating birds. The old lighthouse has also become a popular observation post. From here you will see the capital, on the other side of the bay, or even much further in fine weather, Mount Snaefell.
