Long avenue with monuments from the early Middle Ages and a series of palaces.

The axis of the city's artistic and social life, this long and elegant avenue, lined with shops, extends for about 700 meters from Piazza Castello to the Teatro Olimpico. Centuries of architecture pass along the Corso. Starting from Piazza Castello, in the southwestern part of the historic center, you will discover a series of palaces designed by Andrea Palladio. In front of Piazza Castello, for example, is the Palazzo Porto Breganze, designed by Palladio and built by Vincenzo Scamozzi in the early 17th century. On the other side of the square, at the corner of Corso Palladio, is Palazzo Thiene-Bonin Longare with its impressive façade. Right in front of Palazzo Bonin stands Palazzo Piovene and, further on, Palazzo Loschi Zileri dating from the second half of the eighteenth century. Nearby are the church of San Filippo Neri (rebuilt in 1730), Palazzo Braschi (15th century), which was completely rebuilt after the 1944 bombings, and Palazzo Trissino, the work of Scamozzi and the current seat of the town hall. Continuing the slight descent towards the Olympic Theater, we linger in front of Palazzo Da Schio (also called Ca' d'Oro) and inside the church of Santa Corona, in Romanesque style, which contains paintings by Veronese and Bellini. A few meters further on, we reach a small building, the former house of Palladio, while in Piazza Matteotti, we stop in front of the splendid façade of Palazzo Chiericati.
