MILITARY MUSEUM (VOJENSKÉ MÚZEUM)

Photographs and maps of the many battles that took place during Operation Carpathians, a few kilometres from Svidník, on the Polish border. Outside, tanks, armoured vehicles and Soviet aircraft are displayed in the open air. A memorial of the Soviet army extends 37 m in front of the skanzen, 9,000 Soviet soldiers are buried under the monument overhung by a Soviet star. It was built in 1954.
