CHURCH OF ST. NICHOLAS (CHRÁM SV MIKULÁŠE)

In the heart of the central square, this church was built on the site of an old church built by German settlers. The construction of the current building dates back to the 14th century and was extended between 1502 and 1505. Its 66-metre high tower overlooks the old town. It is absolutely necessary to admire its monumental altar of 1696, a symbiosis of Gothic and Baroque art. Notice on the gable the angels carved in the workshop of the master Pavol of Levoča.
