JAKAB PALACE (JAKABOV PALÁC)

Jakab Palace (Jakabov palác) is located at the corner of Mlynská and Štefániková streets near the station. It is a castle straight out of a fairy tale built in eclectic style in 1899 and in which a few months lived President Beneš of the Czechoslovak Republic, returning from liberation. Once on a bief, it is now surrounded by a large avenue, the river having been diverted to improve traffic.
