TRINITY CHURCH (KOSTOL SV TROJICE)

Built by the Jesuits in 1681 during the Counter-Reformation, this church has a beautiful, austere and graceful facade. Its murals are the work of Erazmus Schrott, an 18th century Czech academic painter who was inspired by Slovak nature. They are worth a look on their own. At the same time, the Jesuits established schools and the second university in the country. In 1811, this church was given by the Jesuits to the order of the premonstratensians.
