DOMINICAN CHURCH (DOMINIKÁNSKY KOSTOL)

The Dominican Church is the oldest church in Košice. Built between 1230 and 1240, it is part of the Dominican monastery. Its baroque appearance is due to its renovation during the Counter-Reformation. The Dominicans remained in this monastery from the 13th century to April 15, 1950, until they were deported by the Soviets. Recently renovated in 2014, its main interest is its ceilings covered with fascinating frescos.
